German Hunting Terriers Club which needed to unify all terrier owners from former Yugoslavia, and after Croatia War of independence all terrier owners from Croatia, remained only a dream. We couln't act. 2004 the same group of people in love with the king of hunting dogs gathered together in Zagreb with a couple of younger terrier owners and negotiate establishing club on the national level. Because of will deficiency we give up. One of the main reasons of dismission was repudiation of new constituted Dachshund Club in the membership of Croatia Kennel Club.
Two breeders of the group, Ms.Stipo Vrtarić from Osijek and Ms. Hrvoje Bartolić from Zagreb, as carriers of the idea dont give up and through a year, consulting with head of HKS and written support of Internationale verband fur Deutsche Jagdterrierpresident Mrs. Jenny Schroder convened the congress.
In the name of Organization Committee (Ms.Vrtarić, Šantek,Vlašić, Druško, Bartolić), Foundation Congress was held 14.7.07 in rooms of local authority Podsljeme - Mlinovi. 32 breeders and breed lovers answered the invitation. Special honour showed, Croatian kennel club commissioner for hunting cynology, Ms. Dražen Tuličić as presidential delegate of HKS, Ms.Damir Skok.
14th July 2006 German Hunting Terrier Club was founded and our wish has come true. Mr. Predrag Šuvak from Gradina near Virovitica was elected for the president. Statute of the Club was adopted from the city-office for administration on Zagreb 13th Septenmber 2006 and solution for registration of the Club, in the Club register of Republic of Croatia was issued by the registration number 21004924.
Club centre is in Zagreb and the abbreviation is KNLTH. Club is on the national level. After a year of the existence Club has 50 active members and about 30 new members.
